KoalaServers is a community for all ages - that means both mature players and younger ones are welcome! So here's the deal:

Be kind, be respectful, and don’t do anything you wouldn’t want a kid to see.

We aim to keep things fair and fun for everyone.

• We only take action when there’s solid evidence (like logs, screenshots or videos).

• Please avoid assumptions - always report based on facts.

• If you see a problem, report it to staff instead of trying to handle it yourself.

1. Use Common Sense:

Anything that harms the community, players, the server economy, or KoalaServers as a whole - and that isn’t an intended feature or mechanic - is punishable, even if it's not explicitly listed in these rules & guidelines.

2. No Cheating, Hacking or Exploiting Bugs:

• Cheating - Bypassing game systems to gain an unfair advantage (e.g., exploiting bugs or unintended mechanics).

• Hacking - Using modified clients, scripts, or external programs to gain an unfair advantage.

Allowed Mods:

Only the following client modifications are allowed:

• Minimaps / Waypoints

• Lighting mods (e.g., shaders, brightness)

• Optifine and other FPS boosters

• Shulker peek

• Crafting recipe helpers (e.g., REI, NEI, JEI)

• Schematica / Litematica (Auto-build is not allowed)

• Itemscroller (May trigger anticheat -  just reconnect if kicked)

• Appleskin

All other modifications or programs are not allowed.

Not Allowed:

• Auto-clickers

• Using objects or contraptions (like whirlpools or pistons) to avoid being marked as AFK

• Chunk loaders

Bug Abuse:

• Exploiting bugs (e.g., duping or abusing staff errors) is strictly forbidden.

• If you find a bug, report it via a ticket.

• Hiding, abusing, or sharing bugs will increase your ban length.

 3. Bypassing Bans, Mutes, or Filters:

• Do not use alternate accounts to bypass a ban or mute.

• Do not try to bypass the chat filter (e.g., by misspelling blocked words).

• If you're caught bypassing any punishment, your ban or mute will be extended.

4. No Disrespect / Harassment / Trolling / Toxicity / Racism / Questionable Terms:

A. Respect & Chat Conduct:

• Be respectful to everyone - no harassment, trolling, or toxic behavior.

• No racism, sexism, homophobia, or use of slurs - in any form or language.

• Do not impersonate staff.
  
  

B. Chat Rules:

• If a player tells you to leave their land or stop messaging, you must stop.

• If a chat topic becomes too heated, staff may step in and mute players to calm things down.

• Follow staff instructions or face punishment.
  
  

C. Hate Speech & Questionable Terms:

• No use of socially unacceptable terms, including variations or misspellings.

  • This includes the N-word, racist, sexist, or homophobic terms.

  • Applies in all languages.
    
    

D. Politics & Sensitive Topics

• No political talk in public chat -  keep it in private messages (/msg).

• Avoid discussing sensitive topics (e.g., religion, abortion) in public chat.
  
  

If someone is being toxic:

Use (/ignore) and/or report the player to staff (/report) - do not engage or escalate the situation.

5. Chat Rules: Language, Swearing, Spamming & Advertising:

A. Chat must be in English:

• Keep all public chats in English.

• Other languages are allowed only in /msg or private team chats.

• Do not engage if you see others chatting in your language (not English) publicly.
  
  

B. No excessive derogatory swearing:

• Swearing to express frustration is allowed (e.g., “Fuck, I died from a creeper.”)

• Swearing to insult or attack others is not allowed (e.g., “Fuck you, asshole.”)

• Most swearing will be censored as KoalaServers is family-friendly.

• Staff will decide when swearing is excessive or unnecessary.
  
  

C. No spamming:

• Includes excessive caps, symbols, repeated messages or links, overuse of non-ASCII characters, excessive colored text, and encouraging spam.

• Staff will judge what counts as spam.
  
  

D. No advertising:

• Advertising other servers or Discords not affiliated with KoalaServers is prohibited.
  
  

E. No death threats, malicious threats, or encouraging suicide:

• Malicious threats include DDOS attacks or leaking personal information.

• Threatening to kill someone in real life is considered a death threat.

• Encouraging or telling players to commit suicide, including joking with terms like “kys,” is strictly prohibited.

6. No Scamming:

Scamming is falsely promising one thing and then doing another. The following are examples of scamming:

• Modifying items to appear as if they are still in their original state when they are not.

• Renaming items in your shop and pretending it is something else (ex: naming tripwire hook “Gold Key” and selling it)

• Putting an enchanted item through a grindstone and then selling it as if it was the original item.

• Tricking players to gain profit.

KoalaServers is not responsible and does not condone any transactions between players that involve real life money.

7. No PVP’ing Unless Agreed Upon:

• Do not PvP unless both parties agree. This includes using in game items/mechanics/mobs to purposely harm players.

• When someone bothers you, this does not give you the right to kill them.

• PvP is disabled by default, but that doesn’t mean that you can PvP anyone that has it enabled.

• Attempting to kill a player through any means that has PvP disabled, is not allowed whatsoever.

• Making any sort of trap that would lead to a player's death, is against the rules, and will be considered a malicious act.

8. No Griefing, Stealing, or Claim Abuse:

• Do not destroy or steal anything that isn’t yours including in unclaimed/expired claims -  this includes dropped items, chests and builds.

• Do not grief land near someone’s claim (within 48 blocks) or build within 64 blocks of a claim unless both parties agree.

• Use common sense: if the builder or landowner doesn’t want something there, it’s likely considered griefing.

• Even if land isn’t claimed, but is clearly built on and active, staff may roll back grief or theft.
  
  

9. Keep Skins, Usernames/Nicknames, Builds & Farms appropriate:

• Skins: No nudity, racism, Nazi skins, or violent imagery.

• Usernames: No swearing, NSFW terms, or racist/offensive meanings.

• Builds: No swastikas, phallic shapes, swear words, political or sensitive topics, or gambling-themed builds. Portal trapping is prohibited. All Nether & End portals must not be blocked off with doors or blocks.

• Item Names: No inappropriate jokes, political topics, vulgar language, or anything offensive.

Staff will decide what is inappropriate. If something is questionable, it's best not to do it.

A. Redstone & Farm rules::

• Staff may ask you to adjust your redstone builds, farms, or villager trading halls.

• All redstone builds must have an on/off switch.

• Do not bypass AFK systems - you may be kicked for it.
